No âmbito do 90º aniversário da Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores, e no enquadramento na política de adaptação da SPA às novas necessidades do mercado do livro, foi criado o Gabinete de Apoio à Publicação e Promoção do Autor.
Com este novo Serviço a SPA prestará apoio aos autores seus associados, ou aos que vierem a ser, na selecção e apresentação de obras às editoras internacionais, agirá em sua representação e na negociação dos direitos de autor.
A nossa área de intervenção centrar-se-á na:- Promoção de autores e obras portuguesas junto do mercado profissional internacional;
- Negociação de cedência internacional de contratos de edição;
- Identificação de fontes de financiamento para apoio à publicação; Aliando-se aos editores e outros agentes de promoção e comercialização de obras seleccionadas de autores portugueses, procuramos o reconhecimento da literatura portuguesa e o enriquecimento da literatura mundial. Department for Supporting the Publishing and Promotion of the Author
The Department for Supporting the Publishing and Promotion of the author was created under the celebration of the 90th anniversary of SPA – Portuguese Society of Authors and as a part of SPA’s adaptation policies to meet the new needs of the book market.
With this new service, SPA will grant support to its current and future associates, in selecting and presenting their works to international publishing houses. acting on their behalf and in the management of their rights of author.
Our field of action will focus on:- Promoting Portuguese works and authors in the international and professional markets;
- Negotiating rights for international publishing contracts;
- Identifying financing sources to support the publication of works. In close connection with publishers and other agents who promote and commercialize selected works by Portuguese authors, we seek the international recognition of the Portuguese literary activity and the enrichment of world literature.
